Winning Wednesday! Two Hotel Projects Granted on the Same Day.
We are thrilled to share two recent successes in the hospitality sector led by Ferguson Planning
Boutique Hotel, 265 Morningside Road, Edinburgh
After constructive engagement with the planning team at CEC over the last few months, we are pleased that Members of the Council’s DM Sub Committee agreed to grant planning permission this morning for our client’s luxury boutique hotel, in Morningside. The proposals, designed by ISA Architecture and Design , represent a significant investment in the town centre and include 11 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, first-floor coffee shop, bakery and stunning roof garden. The new development will significantly enhance the former post-office site which has been vacant since 2019. We’re looking forward to seeing how this project develops!
Merrow Hotel and Spa Complex, Portstewart, Northern Ireland
We are also proud to announce that at planning committee this morning the council voted to grant planning for a stunning 120 Bed Hotel and Spa located on the scenic North Coast in Northern Ireland. This destination will be the first major hotel complex on the North Coast for some time and strategically located on the North West 500 Paddock and a stone throw from Royal Portrush Golf Course the venue for this year’s Open hosted by the R&A. It will bring with it over 100 new jobs and represents one of the largest private sector investments in the area. It will offer a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, and we definitely need to arrange a team spa day once it opens.
